Extracting and burning fossil fuels for energy - electricity, transportation and heat - creates the vast majority of carbon emissions.
In the U.S. and other industrialized nations, this accounts for over 80% of annual emissions. It will not be possible to prevent a climate crisis until we STOP burning fossil fuels.
Natural gas is methane … a bridge to nowhere!
Natural gas is mostly made up of methane- a potent greenhouse gas that is up to 86 times worse than carbon dioxide in the short term.
Burning fossil fuels like natural gas for energy is bad for our health, is unsafe, and is the main cause of climate-fueled disasters.
METHANE LEAKS have been underestimated significantly (by 120%) until now. Methane leaks all along the distribution system, including from gas stoves even when they are turned off.
